The Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) education program is dedicated to cultivating young minds and fostering a deep appreciation for Chinese American history, heritage, and contributions. Through diverse programs, C.A.C.A. provides opportunities for students and others to engage in creative and intellectual growth, advocating for a well-rounded understanding of Chinese American identity and history.
The National Essay Contest is a celebrated tradition that promotes critical thinking, literacy, and historical awareness. Students across the nation submit essays on topics related to Chinese American experiences, achievements, and challenges. This contest not only sharpens students' writing skills but also inspires them to reflect deeply on the significance of their heritage and role within American society.
The National Art Contest encourages students to express themselves artistically, exploring themes related to Chinese American culture, history, and community. This contest invites creativity and provides a platform for young artists to share their unique perspectives on identity, diversity, and heritage.
The National Internship Program offers prospective interns the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in Washington, DC and San Francisco. Interns are mentored by experienced professionals, developing leadership skills and a deeper understanding of advocacy work. The program helps cultivate the next generation of Chinese American leaders dedicated to creating positive change in their communities.
Additionally, C.A.C.A. is developing a comprehensive K-12 Lesson Plan on Chinese American History to be integrated into school curricula across the nation. This educational resource aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of Chinese American contributions and struggles throughout U.S. history. It covers significant events, influential figures, and cultural contributions, helping to build an inclusive historical narrative that resonates with students of all backgrounds.
Together, these programs underscore C.A.C.A.'s commitment to education as a means of empowerment, ensuring that Chinese American voices are heard, recognized, and celebrated in every generation.
